A simplified tech stack still needs documentation. When you know how each tool works, where information flows, and what happens at each step, you reduce the cognitive cost of managing the system.

Keep: The tool serves a clear function, nothing else handles it, you use it regularly, and it integrates reasonably well with the rest of your stack. These tools form the foundation of your simplified tech stack.
Cut: The tool is redundant, unused, or creates more friction than it removes. Cancel the subscription, export any data you might need, and remove it from your workflow. Do not feel guilty about the money you already spent. The goal is to stop spending going forward.
Consolidate: The tool serves a function you need, but another tool in your stack already handles it or an all-in-one platform could handle it along with several other functions. Plan a migration, test the new workflow, and then cut the old tool once the new one is working.
AI Can Help Simplify Your Tech Stack
