The About Section of Your Website
I often see bios in the About Section of a website, and I want to suggest a little shift. What about telling the person going to your website what your programs and services help with instead?
I’m all for creating credibility, but if someone has just come to your website, they are looking for solutions, not how awesome you are. Just sayin’, because we know that you ARE, in fact, awesome.
I tell my clients to start with the idea “You’re in the right place if…”
What you want, is for your website visitor to IDENTIFY that working with you is the best idea for them. And they don’t do that by reading your bio. They do that by reading about how you help others.
Then, we want them to CLARIFY which products and services will work for them, and what they need from you right now.
It’s up to you to MAGNIFY their experience with you, and help them get the best results possible.
Today’s Things
I learned the IDENTIFY, CLARIFY and MAGNIFY process from my friend, Jason Hewlett almost two years ago. In Jason’s book, he helps you to identify your own skills and gifts, but I also feel it has helped me to apply the process to what I have to offer in my business.
I think you will get some really incredible insights from this book, and I recommend it to everyone I work with now.
What can you IDENTIFY, CLARIFY, and MAGNIFY about your gifts and how that connects you to your clients? I’m curious.
