Above the Fold in Your Website
If you have ever wondered what to put Above the Fold in your website, this is the post for you. “What on earth do you mean by ‘Above the Fold’, Heidi?”
So, have you seen Newsies? Yup, that 90s movie that we all watched and fell in love with Christian Bale in his pre-batman and kind of psycho years. That’s the one. Well…in Newsies, they talk about how headlines sell ‘papes’ and headlines are always Above the Fold.
In the newspaper world, Above the Fold is what you see first when you grab a newspaper. These days it is what you see at the top of a website that gets you to stop and do something. Something like read an article, or opt-in for something. Something that causes you to stop and click.
My friends, I NEVER create a website without drawing it out on paper first, and why use plain paper and boring old black ink if you can use pretty sketchbooks and color? Let’s face it. If it wasn’t for the humidity, I would be a perfect Southern Belle. Okay, not really. I may be binge–watching too many episodes of Home Town and the accent has started seeping into my daily speech. I just feel like Ben and Erin get me, ya know?
Where was I?
Oh right, so I did a little training on Above the Fold for my Get Grounded – Go Global Tribe on Facebook. It might give you some ideas, or it might not. You might think I’m crazy, or you might think I’m brilliant. I’m good, either way. Y’all.
If you are shaking your head and saying, “I don’t even know where to begin with all this techy stuff” then let’s get you a Tech Assessment and see what we can do for you. I promise to be gentle, and it’s free, so you don’t have anything to lose, right? Who knows, maybe it will change your life? At least, your business life.
