The 4 Elements of a Website
When it comes to the elements of a website, there are so many choices, themes, templates, and that doesn’t even get us started on branding. It can definitely feel overwhelming. In this post, I will share with you the 4 elements that I teach my clients to create when they are first building their websites.
With so many choices, I want to simplify it for you as you get started. Later, as you grow and develop, you can expand.
There are four things that I believe every new website needs to have, if you are a coach, mentor, or running a service based business.
Above the Fold
This is what shows up at the top of your website, and is the FIRST thing you want someone to do when they visit. On my website, I have a CTA (Call to Action) to schedule a call with me. I’m a connector, and want to connect with you right away to know how I can help you the most.
Who you serve, What You Do, and How You Do It
The more specific you are, the more likely people are to opt-in to whatever it is you are offering. Being clear on what benefits a person receives when they work with you is a big one to include.
Your Programs and Services
What are you offering? A membership? A course? A group program? One to one coaching? This is where you share with them what their options are.
Results
Testimonials from people who have worked with you and would recommend you. Linking back to their site is a nice bonus for them.
Everything I just mentioned is your “Static” content, meaning, it doesn’t change very often. You will want to make sure that integrated in that content are keywords that will help people find you when they search on google.
The “Search Engine Optimization” content comes from blogging, and I highly recommend including a blog on your website.
As I mentioned, you have many choices for your website. My recommendation is to use WordPress.
WordPress is the industry standard, integrates a robust blog, and when you use a template like Divi, you can easily create the look and feel of your site.
